Children continually explore the reality around them, the initiation of early research activities , curiosity and questions about natural phenomena and observation of plant life, in this case, are essential to promote reflection on their experiences. Children gradually learn to describe, represent and organize them with different criteria.
Activity Description (Procedure)
The activity took place staring with the reading of a motivating story "The little seed" by Eric Carle.
Children are guided to understand the various parts of the story and then with stimulating questions invited to rework it verbally.
Then workshop activities are carried out: to know describe the characteristics and qualities of natural elements.
Children collaborate in preparing the soil, planting and caring for plants and vegetables in the seedbed, in potted boxes.
Then move on to the stage of recognizing, classifyıng and tasting the vegetables grown.
Finally they make simple recipes with the harvested produce.
