Activity Description (Procedure)

For an impactful activity, I prepared the setting - a tent, an imaginary campfire, marshmallows, books, electric candles... I mention that the activity took place in February, when we couldn't go out much because of the snow...
About our book: Luli is a girl who lives in a house on the outskirts of the city, where the plain and the forest begin. We know her from "Travel among herbs and light", the book from which you learned, along with Luli and Norocel, her dog, a lot of things about basil, chicory, nettle, plantain and other plants. In this new story, wandering and playing in the forest, Luli learns about linden, poplar, acacia, fir tree, oak and other trees that we meet at every step without sometimes thinking how useful they are to us, in countless ways.
Science Activities
•    studying the herbarium and the botanical atlas to identify the trees,
•    students will identify certain characteristics of tree bark and wood using multiple senses:
- smell: they will smell the fir sawdust to identify this tree,
- see: they will compare the structure of the leaves of the different trees in the library's herbarium collection,
- touched: they will touch the bark of the trees, making differences in texture.
Math Activities
•    They will measure the circumference and length of a tree trunk using a cords and tape measure. Compare it!
•    They will compare and appreciate the height and thickness of a tree in the library yard.
